Republican Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey congratulated Katie Hobbs (Democrat), after she received enough votes to succeed her despite Kari lake, her Trump-backed GOP competitor, refusing to concede defeat.Â
Hobbs was projected to win the Arizona gubernatorial election last week. Her 17,000 vote lead made it impossible for a recount under Arizona laws.
Lake claimed that Lake was her, but without supporting evidence. A group of supporters was disenfranchised, prevented from voting and demanded a second round.
Ducey seemed to ignore Lake’s earlier statements and congratulate Hobbs on her victory, promising to smoothen the transition of power.Â
Ducey said, “Today, I congratulated Governor Katie Hobbs for her victory in a tough race and offered my full cooperation as he prepares to take the leadership of Arizona.” Statement.
