Doja Cat sighs at people paying $8 for Twitter’s Blue Tick

  • Doja Cat uploaded an audio clip where she was sighing at Twitter users who were paying $8 per month to verify her identity.
  • She also ridiculed those who had paid $8 for the verification tag.
  • She changed her Twitter handle “Christmas” and realized that it was impossible to reverse the change.

Doja Cat —  like Many, Many others — is not happy with Twitter.

November 10th, the rapper and singer uploaded a Five-second audio clipAs a way of venting her frustration over Elon Musk’s plan to charge $8 per day for verification, she sighs on Twitter.

The 26-year old followed up with another ClipIn which she ridiculed people who purchased verification badges, she said, “You guys pay $8 per month to get on here and wage war with people that aren’t in agreement with who you love as a pop star?”

 

Musk’s changes to the platform have been a bit controversial for the entertainer, but he may not like them. PurchaseShe did it on October 27, but she still needs his help changing her twitter handle.

Doja posted Christmas song covers and changed her Twitter handle to “Christmas” after realizing she couldn’t reverse the change.

Doja TweetMusk responded on November 10 with a series of expletives. Musk quickly replied, “Working towards it!”

Doja is one of many celebrities who mocked the new Twitter badges.

Stephen King, too, lashed out against Musk’s paid-for-verification blue ticks. In late October, the author took to Twitter to write: “$20 per month to keep my Blue Check? They should pay you, they are fucking it. If this is done, I’m gone just like Enron.”

Musk replied to King’s tweet. “We have to pay the bills somewhere!” Twitter cannot depend entirely on advertisers. What about $8?
