Ann Hoang wanted something to do for her dog-loving husband. Ann Hoang and her husband already had a dog so it was not possible to take on another dog. Lucky for them, fate had other plans.
The couple decided to foster a dog in need instead of bringing another dog home. Band for Animal posted the picture of a Terrier-Schnauzer mix on their Facebook page and they found their new foster dog.
“At first, my husband was unsure of Toby because he was very timid and also this was our very first foster experience,” Hoang shared with The Dodo. “However, by the [first] evening, Toby had sat down next to my husband and he looked up at him with his puppy dog eyes.”
Within a matter of days, two families were interested in adopting Toby. Toby and Mr. Hoang became very close at this point. Even though he is not a requester, Mrs. Hoang knew Toby would be devastated if he didn’t have Toby in his life.
She reached out to the rescue team, and informed them that Toby would be adopted. However, she wanted to surprise her husband.
Mrs. Hoang gave her husband a note. It was from a potential adopter who was coming to visit. The sweet man burst into tears as he read the note.
His wife actually wrote that the dog was now a permanent family member and had been adopted. Watch the big reveal and Mr. Hoang’s emotional ‘ugly cry’ in the touching video above.
