Fans were disappointed that Scott Derrickson had resigned from his position as director of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessAfter being a key player in the horror scene. Sam Raimi is the best choice for a replacement with spooky experiences.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe movie that was released recently performed well when the director could express his unique visual preferences. But it faltered when forced to do the necessary expositional world building as is the case with comic books.

Benedict Cumberbatch, the film’s star, spoke candidly to The Independent in an interview. Prestige OnlineHe had to rewrite many scenes to avoid the Disney sentimentality that was creeping in. Instead, he preferred something more in line to what Derrickson had proposed. Raimi and Michael Waldron both appreciated his input.
Cumberbatch revealed that he suggested that those sequences, specifically the fight against Sinister Strange, “needed to get darker.”
“And I got to write some of those scenes … I suggested that it needed to get darker at a point. There was a slightly more saccharine version at one stage and I’m really happy with the way it evolved. Sam Raimi was open to the idea and Michael Waldron helped me write it. In that moment, we turned what had been a very simple fight between them into something very unique and creative. I really loved it,” he said.
The actor further added, “It was how the original was pitched to me a long while back when Scott Derrickson was still working with us: Strange would meet versions of himself. It was something I wanted. We could have gone even further, and maybe it will go into the future.”

Marvel Studios needs to allow its actors to suggest what is best for their characters as they rewrite scenes to maximize the effectiveness of the MCU’s heroes and villains.
