DC police make second arrest in shooting incident involving Commanders RB Brian Robinson Jr.

Washington, D.C. Police arrested a second teenager for the shooting of Commanders running backBrian Robinson Jr.

Friday evening’s news release included the following: Metropolitan Police DepartmentA 15-year old boy was charged with assault with the intent to rob while arm. The teen was from Northeast DC, according to police.

A 17-year-old boy who was 16 at the time of the crime was also arrested by the police and charged him with the exact same crime.

Because of their ages, further information about the teens is not available.

The shooting occurred on 28 August in the 1000 block H Street, Northeast. Robinson was approached by two teens who allegedly had handguns and tried to rob them.

Robinson was struck twice in the leg by one of the teens who fired a handgun at Robinson during the attempted attack, just before the NFL’s regular-season began.

Surveillance footage nearby showed that the suspects fled the scene with no stolen property.

Robinson was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. After the shooting, Robinson was quickly released from the hospital and began intensive physical therapy. 

He was the running back NFL regular seasonOn Oct. 9, the Tennessee Titans will host the team’s debut.

Robinson received an overwhelming cheer from the home crowd when he was introduced to the game. Robinson finished the game with 22 yards and nine carries.

“I really can’t explain the feeling of getting back out on the field,” Robinson said to ESPN. “Today everything finally came to the light, and I’m just so blessed to be back out there.”

Robinson, a star player of the University of AlabamaA native of Tuscaloosa, he was a third-round selection for the Commanders in the 2022 NFL Draft.
