Daycare worker fired for wearing a Halloween ‘Scream Mask’ to scare children

  • Four employees were fired from Lil’ Blessings Child Care & Learning Center after videos of the incident were shared online.
  • The video shows children running away from a woman in a mask inspired by the movie ‘Scream’.
  • CeeCee, in a tearful video of apology, says that the act was not ill-intentioned.

A Mississippi woman claimed she was fired after wearing a “Scream” mask to scare children at her daycare. She later shared an online tearful apology.

On Wednesday, apparent Videos of the women — known only as CeeCee — in a Halloween mask taunting toddlers just inches from their faces circulated widely on social media, leading to her firing from Lil’ Blessings Child Care & Learning Center in Hamilton, Mississippi, along with three coworkers.

The video shows the children hiding from the woman while she chases them. However, it is an apology video. Obtained by the Daily MailCeeCee posted it later and she claims that it wasn’t malicious.

CeeCee admits she is the one behind each video’s mask, but she says that her coworkers knew of her plans to scare children into doing “bad” things. As a result, four employees were fired. According to a local paper.

“The teachers asked if I would do that or if they could use the mask to get their class to pay attention or clean up. She apologizes and says she is not an abuser of children.

CeeCee was employed at the daycare almost four years before she was fired. In the videos, at least one worker can often be seen laughing.

“I was not allowed to go there at my own risk. I don’t mean to traumatize the children. She apologizes, saying that she expected them to react in the same way as they did when I did it.

“But what you all didn’t see was after I had left the room, I took it off and I went back into the classroom… and I said ‘CeeCee got the monster. It isn’t coming back. I would be hugged by them. I have known these kids my whole life.”

While the viral videos caused outrage, some parents claimed that Sheila Sanders, the facility’s owner, is not to blame for the incidents.

Kimberly Smith, the parent of one of the frightened children, said that she knew 100% that Ms. Sheila was unaware of the situation. Told the local paper

Sanders, who has owned the daycare since 1993, claimed she was unaware of the incidents until Wednesday afternoon. One video was taken as far back as September.

She stated that “no one came forward to tell me it happened in September,” she said to the newspaper.

“The people responsible for these acts are no longer with the United States. They were fired. They were fired because I was not there at the time. This is something I do not condone and will never condone. It has been taken care of.

The matter is under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and the Mississippi State Department of Health.
