Rey Caquias, his dog Thiago, and their stroller went for a short walk near their Puerto Rican homes earlier this month. They were happy to be able to finish the walk together.
Thiago was the reason they were able to do that.
Caquias noticed Thiago was preoccupied with something about halfway through their walk. Caquias asked Thiago to stop and he refused.
“He took a detour into the forest. I started calling him, but he ignored me,” Caquias told The Dodo. “That’s when I heard a small bark. Then I looked closely and saw a very scared little puppy.”
It was believed that the puppy was abandoned. He was fragile and scared and it was unlikely that his survival would have been extended. Thiago was able to provide assistance.
Caquias decided to save the dog after he bit him in terror. He was able to rescue the little dog after finding a container to keep him safe.

Caquias took the puppy to the vet for a checkup.
Thiago, the small dog’s hero, never left his side during the entire ordeal.
Even though the puppy was only days away of dying, it was stronger and more healthy inside than ever.
“I’ve grown very fond of him,” Caquias said.
Thiago clearly has.
They get along great! Caquias remarked.
Finally, Thiago accomplished more than only saving the puppy’s life. He also made improvements to the dog’s life.
There’s no telling how that small dog got there by himself, but there’s little doubt that Thiago found him just in time.
Caquias said, “I appreciate him.” “Thiago is a really compassionate dog. If he hadn’t found the dog, I would have never seen him. My response was one of great joy and pride.”
