Only travelled this distance and just under 2m in the calendar year. This is clearly a preferred trop, having won by 15 lengths in Jul, over three lengths three day later, and then finishing second in a match against Geromino (138-rated).
3.40: Kansas City Chief (3/1 NAP)
Difficult to oppose Hillview but in this circumstance, with Kansas City Chief only up 2lb for his last win that came in March at Plumpton it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him rally home well under regular rider and 7lb claimer Victoria Malzard.
They finished back in 13th place at Cheltenham Festival, behind Third Wind in Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurle (Grade 3), and the 13-year old is in the best shape of his life.
It would also be a great forecast for Hillview, as the pair continue to impress and improve despite their age and weight.
Nottingham racing tips
3.50: Marhamba the Champ 5/2 (NB).
He made a big step forward at Hamilton, winning by more than two lengths his second run after wind surgery.
Since then he’s progressed nicely and a return to 1m2f will suit nicely now he’s settled in.
6lb rise to contend with and another in-form rival who’s 7lb lighter but 5/2 on the Kevin Ryan-trained horse is set to justify favouritism and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see, under James Doyle, shorten in the market overnight.
