Marvel Studios announced that T’Challa was not being recast after the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman. Wakanda Forever: Black Panther. The sequel’s screenwriter now reveals if they have ever thought of using CGI to replace the MCU star in their film.

Early reviews by critics showed that the sequel balanced these elements well, but it raised the question whether T’Challa would’ve been CGI’d.
Victoria Alonso, executive vice president of Marvel Studios, quickly dispelled rumors that the studio would make a digital Chadwick Boseman to star in the sequel.
Black Panther 2Angela Bassett, a star of CGI, also spoke out on the topic. She said she hadn’t really thought about it.
The sequel is currently enjoying a very successful box office run. However, the film’s director has spoken out about his views on CGI-ing T’Challa. A recent interview was conducted with Rolling StoneJoe Robert Cole, Joe’s co-writer, said that T’Challa could be digitally recreated. “I don’t remember any conversations about that. No. I don’t think we were ever…I don’t think anyone felt that would be appropriate,” he said.
This follows some MCU fans who trended “Recast Tyler” on Twitter during the sequel’s initial weekend.
It is important to mention that Wakanda Forever: Black PantherCGI used to bring T’Challa’s back could have hurt Shuri’s character as she plays the role. Although T’Challa’s return with CGI was likely to have been a momentary relief for viewers, Shuri’s story, which honors Boseman in more satisfying, lasting ways, may have suffered from a digital cameo.
