Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn is still on – for now – despite the controversy surrounding Benn’s failed drug test.
The Destroyer failed the VADA test. In August, he was found to have ingested a banned substance. This led to Wednesday’s news. Which is set for Saturday, into doubt.
However, despite the British Boxing Board of Control prohibiting the bout from taking place, it’s still on as things stand.
Eubank Jr and Benn took part in open workouts on Wednesday afternoon and said they want the fight to happen, and are now due to face each other in Thursday’s press conference.
However, this has sparked outrage. talkSPORT commentator Adam Catterall, likening situation to the ‘Wild West’.
Eubank’s promoter, Kalle Sauerland, said a decision on whether the fight will take place, is expected on Thursday evening
