Companion Community Helps Dog in Deadly Crash

A Rio Linda crash that occurred days before Thanksgiving resulted in the death of a woman. According to Sacramento police officers, it was caused by a drunk driver.

It occurred at around 4:15 PM. Near the intersection of Dry Creek Road, Marysville Boulevard.

CBS13 received confirmation from family members that Kathy Blair was killed in the accident, but that her husband, and their two dogs were not hurt. The family’s suffering increased when one of their cherished pet chihuahuas, Peanut, escaped during the accident.

Rio Linda’s community quickly stepped in to help Robertson, who took to social media immediately to ask his neighbors to keep an eye out for Peanut.

Robertson says that within 30 minutes, the article had received 47 shares and was growing. Numerous people also contacted me to offer their assistance. The article was eventually shared more than 600 times on different Facebook pages for Rio Linda.

Peanut was found half-mile from the crash scene, still wearing his Christmas sweater. Peanut is now safe and sound, thanks to the kindness of strangers.
