Comcast will show the 2022 FIFA World Cup in DolbyVision HDR

You’ll soon have the chance to watch the 2022 World Cup with vibrant image quality — so long as you have the right cable provider, anyway. Comcast offers AnnouncementThe only US company that will air the Qatar-based World Cup on Dolby Vision HDR, it is. An eligible Xfinity X1 settop box and a Dolby vision-capable TV are required. You will have to tune in to Fox for coverage. The players’ bright uniforms will pop if all the necessary ingredients are present.

Comcast offers a familiar World Cup hub to X1 users. It allows you to follow your favorite teams, track tournament brackets and view AI-selected highlights of recorded matches. You don’t need a TV service to view the matches. Peacock will stream live and on-demand Spanish games, while Tubi will provide English replays for every game for no cost.

HDR isn’t necessarily a feature that will make or break your project. You might be satisfied with HDR. Stream through Fox SportsOr, you can watch plainer footage on traditional TV. Dolby Vision support could be an incentive for you to watch on cable, if you live within a Comcast-supported area and want to get the best out of your World Cup experience.
