Comcast hit download speeds of 6Gbps over cable in a recent ‘10G’ test

It plans to conduct live testing of its multi-gigabit 10G symmetrical internet services this year and offer it to customers by 2023. The company has been Increasing home internet speeds by using the existing cable network. The final piece appears to be falling into place.

Comcast has been working towards achieving speeds of 10Gbps or higher, which was the original goal. Comcast recently tested the last component needed to provide 10G- andDOCSIS 4.0-powered multigigabit symmetrical speeds throughout its entire network. It used newly designed components to test the new component. Engineers achieved download speeds of 6Gbps with (FDX) amplifiers and upload speeds at 4Gbps using a complete six-amplifier cacade. . Comcast’s download speed is 50% faster than the one Comcast offers. .

Comcast claimed that this architecture covers the vast majority (or network) of Comcast and can be quickly and easily replicated wherever network environments might differ. “The success of the test is therefore key to 10G delivery to all Comcast customers.”

Comcast will be hosting a special month of programming Four states. Upload speeds are limited to 200Mbps for the Gigabit2x plan. Comcast will offer 10G services in the next year. Users will theoretically be capable of downloading and uploading files at multi-gigabit speeds when they start offering them. Comcast plans to offer 2Gbps service to 50 million households in the US by 2025.
