CNN: Indictments for 2020 Election Interference Could Come By December

  • Trump and his associates were investigated in connection to attempts to subvert Georgia’s 2020 electoral results.

While developments in Georgia’s special grand jury probe into Donald Trump, his associates and others may not occur before the midterms; however, indictments could be issued as early as December. CNN.

Fani Willis, Fulton County district attorney, has been leading the charge for an Investigation into Trump’s and his associates’ attempts to influence the 2020 elections in GeorgiaSince February 2021. One of the accusations is that a scheme was used to send a false slate of electors the state Capitol in an attempt to overturn the results.

However, a major move such as that will not be made before the November 8 midterm elections. CNN reported that Willis stated that her office would not provide any updates on the case pivotal to the election, starting this week. This is in order to avoid giving the impression of having swayed the election.

An anonymous source familiar with the investigation said that indictments or other significant activity could be initiated by December.

Michael J. Moore, an ex-US attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, stated that she believes her hands are tied until after the midterms. She wants to remove some of the politics from it, to ensure that the investigation does not get forgotten. Instead of subpoenaing witnesses and rattling the Sabers, you would simply say, “You know we’re going this time to reflect upon the investigation.”

Since the commencement of the grand jury probe, prosecutors issued a series of subpoenas for Trump’s allies, state officials, and even to Sen. Lindsey Graham. Also, to Trump legal advisers John Eastman and Kenneth Chesebro, Cleta Mitchel, and Jenna Ellis.

Boris Epshteyn (another Trump lawyer) and Mark Meadows, former Chief of Staff, also testified in front of the grand jury.
