The trailer for Universal Pictures and Nintendo’s upcoming The Super Mario Bros Movie is finally here bringing with it the first listen to actor Chris Pratt’s Mario voice.
Universal Pictures released the teaser trailer for the film’s first trailer on Thursday, October 7, 2022. It disappointed some fans.
While Chris Pratt’s voice was not approved, Jack Black’s Bowser stole the show.
The film The Super Mario Bros Movie is an adaptation of Nintendo’s iconic video game franchise, Super Mario with the actor being cast as the Mushroom Kingdom’s heroic plumber.
This film is a collaboration between Illumination Animation (Nintendo) and Nintendo. It is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic and gathers a big celebrity cast, taking on roles of some of Nintendo’s most iconic characters.
The film features Chris Pratt and others. The Super Mario Bros MovieAlso casts Anya TaylorJoy and Jack Black, Charlie Day, Keegan–Michael Key and Seth Rogen.
The casting of the film has been controversial since its announcement. After the trailer’s release, many people took to social media to express their opinions and share their thoughts.
Taking to Twitter, many dedicated Nintendo fans have criticized Chris Pratt’s Mario voice saying that it’s too similar to his actual voice. Meanwhile, many have praised Jack Black for his Bowser’s voice and also the movie’s animation.
Sharing their thoughts, one Twitter user wrote, “everything in the mario trailer works except for mario”
“Chris Pratt saying he worked so hard on the Mario voice only for it to sound like Chris Pratt is the funniest thing,” another Twitter user wrote.
