China Navy’s Whole Fleet of Destroyers, Type 055 Included

According to the 2021 report of the United States Naval Institute, China’s navy is the largest in the world, having more than 355 vessels.

China’s principal rival, the US has the second-largest Navy in the world, 296 vessels. A report from the Center for Strategic and International Studies for 2022. Despite being smaller than China’s People’s Liberation Army Navy Navy, the US Navy is widely considered to be the most powerful in the modern world due to its presence, partnership, experience, and technological innovation. 

China is however determined to build a world-class army capable of winning and fighting wars. China is already the leader in navy size but it continues to increase its naval force. The Congressional Research ServiceAccording to predictions, the country’s naval fleet will increase by 400 vessels by 2025 and 425 in 2030. It is also investing heavily to improve its combat capabilities for its vessels.

China has been building its navy over the past decade in order to increase its military presence around Taiwan. According to a March report from The Japan Times. The report said that China’s “increasing capability of warships”, such as destroyers, is vital to its military plans.

China relies upon its navy to protect its sovereignty and advance its national interests in parts of the Western Pacific and the East China Sea.

The fleet of Chinese destroyers growing in size is made up of 41 active vessels, which are part of eight classes. According to the 2022 estimate of Global Firepower, military data site.

China’s newest, Type 055, is not the only active destroyer class. Type 052A to Type 051B to Type 051C to Type 052B Type 052B Type 052C Type 052B Type 052C Type 052C Type 052C Type 052B Type 052C Type 052C Type 052C Type 052C and Type 052C are also locally produced. CRS released the 2018 report.Only one type, the Type 956E(M), can be considered foreign-made.
