Cardiff’s Callum Robinson was sent for an early bath after throwing the ball into a Swansea players face in the south Wales derby.
Tensions always flare between the fierce rivals, and Sunday’s game was no exception, as the derby saw drama just seven minutes in.
Cardiff‘s trip across South Wales to the Swansea.com Stadium already posed as a tough challenge.
The SwansCurrent standings are equal with Norwich City, final play-off place holders. Bluebirds entered tie after suffering two losses.
And just seven minutes in, the visitors made their afternoon even harder, as striker Callum Robinson was awarded a straight red card for throwing the ball in Swansea defender Ben Cabango’s face.
Both sides were getting more involved in the game and referee Darren Bond whistled for Robinson to foul.
But as the Bluebird’s frontman walked away and caught the ball, Cabango came behind him to take it from him.
Robinson clearly wasn’t pleased with Cabango’s advance, and, in a moment of madness, decided to throw the ball into the centre-back’s face.
The home fans and Swansea’s players were furious, and soon enough, Bond pulled out a red card for the striker, sending him off for what has been confirmed as punishment for violent conduct.
Cardiff held on to the pressure from the home side, even though they were down a man.
As they were able to score the first goal against their opponents, the Swans had their shout for handball in a box disallowed.
Then, in the 37th minute, Swansea finally opened the scoring through Ollie Cooper – whose Dad previously played for Cardiff – with the star sending a right-footed rocket into the top corner.
