California firefighters rescue blind puppy that fell into a 15-foot hole during construction site.

California Rescued firefightersA blind 13-year old dog fell into a hole 15 feet deep at a construction site.

Cesar the dog lives with Mary, his owner in Pasadena. Nearby, construction workers were busy at 700 North Lake Avenue, where Carl’s Jr. used to be located.

According to KABC-TV the dog wandered onto the site on Tuesday and fell into the hole around 7 p.m. The hole was approximately 15 feet (3.91 meters) deep, and 3 feet (0.91 metres) wide.

Mary was alerted to Caesar’s disappearance from her property. Her other dog started barkingShe noticed Caesar’s muffled response, which was a sign that he was not on her property.

Pasadena Search and Rescue quickly responded to the call and set up pulleys and ropes that allowed one team member to be lowered into the hole. It took the team member 12 minutes to reach his dog, tie him up in a harness, and then bring him back to safety.

Chad Augustin, Pasadena’s Fire Chief, stated confined-space rescues present unique challenges for firefighters.

“There are many things we can do to make this as safe as possible. Augustin explained that Augustin was not only concerned about the dog’s safety but also for our rescuers.

Cesar seemed to be in good health and was uninjured when he was pulled from the hole. He was able to get rid of the heavy construction dirt and dust that had covered him and was reunited. Owner at the scene.
