Roquan Smith set up Cairo Santos’ game-ending field goal when he intercepted Davis Mills deep in Houston territory, and the Former coach beat by Chicago BearsLovie Smith, the Texans and 23-20 Sunday.

Chicago’s Khalil Herbert ran for a record-breaking 157 yards and two touchdowns.

Chicago had Herbert run and then lost the ball twice, before Santos made a 30-yarder at the end of time.

Herbert, whose previous record was 100 yards last season as a rookie, made it 10-0 in the first quarter when he scored at the 11. The Bears had a brief lead of just 20-17 after Herbert also ran 52 yards from the first quarter. He ran it in at the 1 and then returned the favor with a touchdown run.

Fields was 8 of 17, for 106 yard. The former Ohio State star had two interceptions and a 27.7 Rating.

Montgomery walked off the field in pain on Chicago’s second possession after his right leg got rolled up on while he was pass blocking.

Eddie Jackson intercepted the pass in the end zone of the second quarter.

Smith led the Bears’ 81-63 record, and made a Super Bowl appearance in 2004-12. He is currently 0-3 against his former teammates. This includes Tampa Bay’s losses at Soldier Field in 2014 and Raymond James Stadium in 2015.

Mills completed 20 of 32 passes and threw for 245 yard. Mills had two interceptions and a touchdown against a defense that was missing Jaylon Johnson, the top cornerback.

Dameon Petty ran for 80 yards with a TD. Chris Moore received a 52 yard reception.

Jalen Pitre, who was joined by Dunta Robinson against Raiders on October 3, 2004, became the second rookie in Texans’ history to record two interceptions. In the final minutes, he also had a sack.

INJURIES

Texans: There were no injuries.

Bears: WR Byron Pringle (calf), who was injured on the exact same play as Montgomery, left the game.
