Bruno Lage sacking: Players ‘disengaged’ with training and man management issues

Bruno Lage, who left Molineux looking as determined as ever, insisted that his blueprint for a new-look Wolves with more time, better luck, and a functioning striker would have worked.

The reality, though, is that Lage fell short in his quest to transform the club’s style of play and left them in trouble.

“I will say this, because you didn’t ask me,” he told the assembled reporters. “I see good signs, that was the most important thing.”

In the last few weeks of a reign Lage knew was in jeopardy, it became a familiar refrain. It also became a hollow one as Wolves’ lack of goals became chronic.

Lage stressed patience and meticulous work. He also recommended that a striker be a reliable player to give his team an important, missing ingredient.
