Broncos’ OT Garett Bolles has a broken leg, and will miss significant amount of time: Source

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — BroncosLeft tackle Garett Bolles suffered a broken leg in Thursday’s 12-9 overtime loss to the ColtsThe injury will keep him out of action for a considerable time. A source familiar with the matter confirmed this to The Athletic.

Bolles was initially diagnosed with a broken leg. The team is still undergoing further evaluation on Friday to determine the severity of the injury as well as the timeline for recovery. Bolles, who is in his sixth NFL season and will likely be placed on injured reserve for his first time in his professional career, is almost certain.

The play happened with just four minutes left of the fourth quarter. Bolles was run-blocking for ball carrier when his right log was rolled by DeForest Burkner, Colts defensive player. Mike Boone. Bolles was a second team All-Pro in 2020 and was quickly loaded onto a cart. While being driven into the tunnel, Bolles slammed on his fist with frustration and placed a towel over him. After the game, he was seen using crutches.

Bolles was taken over as left tackle Calvin AndersonHe is his friend and off-season training partner.

“Garett, obviously, did not look good there,” head coach Nathaniel Hackett said after the game.

Bolles’ departure is another major blow to an offense that has been off to one its worst starts in franchise history.
