Bournemouth ditch Kanye West song after rapper’s anti-Semitic comments

Bournemouth will no longer play the Kanye West song Power before games at the Vitality Stadium due to the American rapper’s recent anti-Semitic comments.

Premier League players have decided to stop using the 2010 song immediately.

Bournemouth used to play Power in their pre-match routine for several seasons, but this will not be the case anymore.

The south coast side is not the only one to end their relationship with West. He officially changed his name from Ye to Adidas last year. Adidas, JP Morgan, and Gap are all saying they will no longer be able to do business with him.

The rapper, who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, made anti-Semitic comments earlier in the month on his Twitter account.

In a statement on Tuesday, Adidas wrote: “Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech. Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.”

Gap said: “Antisemitism, racism and hate in any form are inexcusable and not tolerated… We are partnering with organisations that combat hate and discrimination.”

After his comment, West had his Instagram and Twitter accounts temporarily suspended.

He wrote “Who do you think created cancel culture?” on Twitter once his profile was reactivated.
