Bobby Madley is back to refereeing Premier League this weekend, more than four years after he was fired

Bobby Madley will make his return to Premier League action, four years after being fired by Professional Game Match Officials Limited.

The 37-year-old will officiate this Saturday’s Premier League encounter between Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Madley was fired after a video of him making fun of a disabled person was circulated to friends.

He left the UK for Norway after the decision, where he refereed in the country’s lower leagues.

Madley was offered a National List Referee position, which allowed him to officiate matches for League One and League Two.

Before he was dismissed, he officiated at least 91 top-flight matches from 2013 to 2018.

This season, Madley has refereed 10 games in England’s second tier, the Championship.

Madley’s older brother, Andy, 39, will referee Brighton’s home match against Chelsea this weekend.
