Biden’s final week of campaigning plagued with gaffes: ‘What’s his name?’

In the week leading up Election Day, President Biden made some blunders on the campaign trail.

Biden, who turns 80 in a month, attended a variety of Democratic campaign events this week. Biden had several verbal missteps. President Biden called General Motor CEO Mary Barra “Amy Barrett”, a Supreme Court justice. He called Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz D.-Fla. a “friend” in the Senate.

During His last campaignMonday night’s Maryland election, he seemed to have forgotten the name of the candidate that he was there for.

“And, naturally, you got that next Governor. What’s his name? Wes… Wes…,” Biden said, which sparked the audience to hold up their “Wes Moore” signs.

Wes Moore!” Biden finally said it. “The guy’s the real deal, man.”

Biden’s struggles on the campaign trail included statements that are easily disproven. Biden claimed to have spoken with the inventor of insulin, but in fact he died before he was even born. He repeated his debunked claim that he had traveled 17,000 miles in company with Chinese President Xi Jin Ping.

BidenBeau, Beau’s son, died 19-months after his return from Iraq. Beau actually died in the U.S. six decades after his service.

Biden claimed that he was a professor at Penn after his tenure as vice president. However, he did not mention that he had never taught a class.

Biden made nearly one gaffe a day between Sept. 26 and Oct. 24. His most famous gaffe was when he called for Rep. Jackie Walorski who had been killed in an August car accident. He also described Vice President Kamala Harris, who he called a “great leader”.
