Steven Gerrard, the head coach of Aston Villa after Fulham’s defeat, has been dismissed.
Gerrard traveled back to the Midlands with the Villa team coach and the players. He was to say goodbye to the squad upon their return to Bodymoor Heath.

Brentford’s Thomas Frank is a manager admired by the Villa board and will be considered as part of the search to replace Gerrard.
Gerrard quit Rangers in Scotland to become the new Aston Villa manager in November 2021.
However, Ex-captain of England and Liverpool, he has presided over only eight wins in this calendar year.
A recent draw of 1-1 against struggling Nottingham Forest, Gerrard had pointed the finger at his “big hitters,” saying: “There is a lot of frustration there. I challenged forward players to show us more in this area. We just need more quality from some of our big hitters.”
But though he had continued to strike a bullish tone about reversing his side’s slump, a 2-0 defeat against ChelseaFulham was beaten 3-0. On Thursday night, Fulham also lost 3-0. Douglas LuizSend him off for a headbutt.
