House of the DragonThe viewership of’s videos is steadily increasing.
According to a recent Variety report, Episode 5, ‘We light the Way’, drew 3% more viewers than Episode 4, ‘King of the Narrow Sea’. The prequel series Game of ThronesSeason 1 currently averages 29 million viewers per episode.

These statistics combine the number who streamed Sunday’s Episode 5, via HBO Max or other platforms, with Nielsen’s measurement for the episode’s four cable airings. However, Nielsen reported a 4% increase in linear viewers compared to cable viewers.
The steady increase in viewership has shown that HBO’s new offering is well-received. The show’s retention rate is now expected to stay stable through Season 1.
Although its parent company has been decreasing the amount of scripted or unscripted content over recent months, HBO, which is a subsidiary Warner Bros Discovery, had to make things right. House of the DragonThe series’ success will bring order to chaos.
The series is set 175 years prior to the events of Game of Thrones. It explores the beginning of House Targaryen’s decline using cues taken from Fire and Blood and Dance of the Dragons.
In the meantime, Episode 6 will see a substantial time jump House of the DragonThis will alter the plot and cast. Milly Alcock will play Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, while Emily Carey will portray Lady Alicent Hightower.
