Arsenal and Liverpool to face Lyon during World Cup. This is a series of winter break friendlies that will be held in Dubai. Players from Qatar 2022 are not included.

Arsenal and Liverpool will face Lyon in Dubai during the World Cup, in a series if friendlies that take place during the winter break.

The Premier League’s giants will take on the French side from December 5 to 12, with club teams out of action during the Qatar tournament.

The World Cup is from November 20 through December 18. The Premier League will be paused on November 13 to allow for the World Cup, and resume on Boxing Day.

As members of the Premier League’s so-called ‘big six’, both teams will be without a number of stars who are heading to Qatar, but could still field decent line-ups.

Arteta may still give valuable game time to Eddie Nketiah and Kieran Tierney, while Ethan Nwaneri (15-year-old academy star) could get more action.
