Arizona candidate Kari Lake campaign HQ receives ‘suspicious items’ in mail, prompting Phoenix police response

Phoenix law enforcement officers responded to the Arizona Republican candidate for governorship campaign headquarters Kari LakeAfter “suspicious objects were found inside the mail,” 

Fox News Digital received confirmation from the Phoenix Police Department that officers responded “to a found property report at an office building close to 40th Street and Camelback Road.” 

Phoenix police Sgt. Phil Krynsky emailed. “Additional resources were available to secure the area and collect the items. There were no injuries reported and the investigation continues. 

Reports said a white powdery substance had been found in packages sent to Lake’s office.

Asked specifically if that’s what was found, Krynsky responded, “The items were suspicious in nature and remains under investigation. Our patrol units were there up to 5 a.m. 

Fox News Digital also reached out to Lake’s campaign and FBI PhoenixFor comment.

Initial reports claimed that Phoenix police officers and FBI agents responded to the scene in hazmat suit. 

This happens just days before Lake, a former news anchor and staunch critic for the press, faces off against Katie Hobbs, a Democratic opponent. Arizona governor raceTuesday. Last week, police responded to a reported break-in at Hobbs’ campaign headquarters in Phoenix. Hobbs initially blamed Lake’s rhetoric.
