The Series 8Although it isn’t an upgrade to the Series 7, it has some useful new features. It has a temperature sensor that is tied to women’s health. This gives female users an idea of when they might be ovulating. It is intended to be used at night. The temperature sensor will measure your wrist temperature once every five seconds, so you can track changes in your baseline.
Crash Detection. Like watches that detect a fall, Series 8 can also detect car crashes using a pair new accelerometers. The sensors work in conjunction to detect four types crash types, including rollovers as well back impacts, side impacts and front impacts. All Series 8 models come with a cellular function that allows you to make calls, texts, and send messages for running, hiking, and other activities that do not require a smartphone. The Series 8 cell model is quite expensive at $499. It’s much more appealing to spend $389.Â
The Watch SE 2nd Generation offers up to 20 percent performance and the same crash detection features as the series 8. You also get a lower starting cost, with $39 and $29 slashed on the GPS and cellular models. Very affordable $290And $220, respectively.Â
