Apple unveils the M2-powered iPad Pro with WiFi 6E

Apple has unveiledThe company’s latest iPad Pro is powered by its M2 silicon chipset. The tablet offers faster connectivity through WiFi 6E support. Additionally, it features a new hover experience with Apple Pencil. ProRes video capture will also be offered by the new iPad Pro.

Apple claims the M2 will provide up to 15% more performance than M1 on iPad Pro due to its eight cores. Apple claims that the 10-core GPU will provide up to 35 percent more graphics performance. The M2 can perform 40 percent more operations per seconds than the M1 while also having 50 percent more unified storage bandwidth than the predecessor chipset.

Apple notes that the new media engine and image signal processor are both available. Apple claims that these features, together with the new iPad Pro’s cameras, will allow it to support ProRes Video Capture on an iPad for first time. It also stated that the tablet can transcode ProRes footage at least three times faster than before, so that you can “capture, edit and publish cinema-grade videos from one device out in nature.” 

The iPad Pro, the latest Apple device, is the first to feature WiFi 6E. Models on sale in Japan and China will not support WiFi 6E. Apple claims you can download at speeds up to 2.45Gb/s, twice the speed of previous generations. Additionally, 5G connectivity models will be able to connect to more networks across the globe. However, support for mmWave frequency band will be limited to the US and Puerto Rico.

Apple claims this will let you see the preview of any mark before you apply it. The company claims that this will increase precision and offer additional functionality. Text fields will automatically expand when you place Apple Pencil close to the Scribble app. Apple claims that the iPad Pro will also convert handwriting into text faster.
