What additional items do I need to purchase?
Potentially, nothing. It has three USB-C ports at the back and one Thunderbolt port, making it easy to connect to existing accessories.
While you will find Apple’s A13 Bionic chip under the hood of the Studio Display, this is mainly used for the audio and video features. There’s also no RAM, storage or operating system built-in, even if it’s designed to work with macOS. Technically, the display can be used with any computer or laptop.
What are the options for glass?
The Studio Display’s front is covered with glass. Apple offers two types of glass: StandardAnd Nano-texture. Nano-texture glass has a lower reflection than Standard glass. If you’re sensitive to glare, or you do production work where lighting is critical, opt for the Nano-texture–but this option adds to the price of the display.
What are the available stand options?
Apple offers three kinds of stands for its Studio Display:
- Stand tilt-adjustable: Allows for only the adjustment of the display’s tilt. This feature is standard on the Studio Display.
- Adjustable tilt- and height-adjustable stand: Adjustable height and tilt. This stand comes at an additional cost.
- VESA Mount Adapter: To attach to a VESA compliant arm, wall mount, stand, or other device. This item is included at no additional charge.
