Apple has released iOS 16.1.1 and iPadOS 161.1, which have bug fixes and security upgrades, ahead of iOS 16.2’s launch. This is recommended for all iOS 16-compatible devices.
The released notes are vague but the fix likely fixes two problems. One affected some users’ ability to stay connected to Wi-Fi networks and the other impacted Apple’s SKAdNetwork, which “lets advertisers measure the success of advertisements by attributing app installations to specific ad campaigns.”
Two security updates are also included in this release. Neither of these have been exploited in wild.
