Apple only just introduced the new iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Ultra at an event September 7, but it isn’t finished releasing new products in 2022. Although there are many new iPads and Macs that could launch in October, it is still two weeks before the launch date. This has made the wait even more intense.
Apple has always held an additional fall event in November or October where new Macs, and AirPods were launched. For example, at last year’s Unleashed event we got the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro and the third-gun AirPods and the previous year brought the M1 versions of the 13-inch MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac mini. Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s October product launches.
Apple will hold an October event
Apple will hold two events this autumn, one in September for the launch of new iPhones and Apple Watches. The other in October for the release of new iPads. Apple is expected launch a number of new products by the end the year. An event is the most natural way to reveal them all.
But there is a possibility that an event won’t be held at all. Over the past 10 years, Apple has held October events in seven of them, so it’s not unprecedented to skip it. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has suggested that the remaining product lineup Event organizers might not have enough money to pay for it.Apple could instead issue a series press releases to announce its new products.
When could Apple’s October event be held?
We have not yet received invitations, but we can see a pattern in previous years to give an indication of when the event will be held. Apple held its October events in the past on the following dates.
2021: Monday, Oct 18
2020: Tuesday October 13
2019: No event
2018: Tuesday October 30
2017: No event
2016: Thursday, September 27
2015: No event
2014: Thursday, 16 October
2013: Tuesday 22 October
2012: Tuesday October 23
2011: Tuesday, October 4.
As you can see it’s not always the case that Apple holds an event in October, but it is certainly more often than not, and we have every reason to expect an October event in 2022. We expect this year’s event will be held on Tuesday, October 18 or Tuesday, October 25. Apple’s iPhone 14 event was held a week early than usual, so it may be on the earlier side. It could even be October 11. The invitations will be sent out one week before the event.
When does the October event begin?
Apple will host an October event at 10 a.m. PT if it has one. Here’s what that translates to in other countries around the world:

- Canada: Same as above, but at 2 pm (AST/ADT).

What new products will Apple announce in October?
Whether there’s an event or not, we expect Apple to unveil new Macs and iPads. The release iPadOS 16.1And macOS 13 VenturaThey are also expected to arrive in the middle of the month. Here’s what we expect Apple to announce:
MacBook Pro 14-inch and 16 inch
The most logical Mac that will arrive in October is the an M2 Pro refresh of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro. This isn’t mere speculation on our part: In a June Power On newsletter Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman indicated that Apple is getting ready to release M2-based versions of the Mac mini, Mac Pro, and MacBook Pro over the next few months. These are the current models. Amazon has great dealsGet up to 400% off We aren’t expecting any changes other than the processor bump, however.
Mini Mac
Apple now has the 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air. Mini-M2 Mac will follow soon, and an October event would be a great place to launch it. Apple could also be releasing a refresh of the M1 mini. A higher-end model could be on the horizon. M2 Pro-based Mac miniThe Intel version is being discontinued. To go with the faster M2 Pro processor, the new high-end model may have a different design, color, or more ports.

Mac Pro
Apple initially claimed that the Apple silicon switch would take two years. It’s now more than two years since Apple announced the transition from Intel to its own chips, and by October it will be two years since the first M1 Macs appeared. Apple teased a brand new Mac Pro at its March Peek Performance event. However, the current Mac Pro runs on Intel chips. We don’t have a ton of information about what a Mac Pro newIt will be a hit with users, but it will most likely use a higher-end version the M2 chip. There’s an outside chance a new Mac Pro could still launch in 2022, but it’s looking more likely to be a 2023 release.
