Apple is not the only company to offer an always-on display. They have been on Android phones for years. Years, and it’s even common on affordable models. Apple was forced to include the feature in its premium iPhone 14 Pro. Something a little differentYou can choose to show your entire wallpaper all the time.
Essentially, everything your iPhone lock screen shows when it’s “awake” is also shown when it’s “asleep.” The time, date, widgets, your notifications, and even background wallpaper. These are dimmed, but some users still find it awkward. It can be difficult to see if your phone has turned on or off in the right lighting.
It appears that Apple is giving users the option to change the always-on display’s behavior in iOS 16.2. Open the Settings app, and then tap on Display & BrightnessAnd then Always on Display, where you’ll find two new toggle switches: “Show Wallpaper” and “Show Notifications”

This gives you a little more control over how you’d like your iPhone 14 Pro’s always-on display to appear. Your iPhone 14 Pro becomes a blank slate with notifications and wallpaper disabled. This reduces distractions and makes it easier to see that your phone’s in a passive state.
This new feature was first introduced with the release iOS 16.2 beta 3November 15, 2015. We don’t expect Apple to release iOS 16.2 until December, so this feature could be refined further, or even disappear, by the time it reaches wide release.
