Appalachian State wins with the last Hail Mary to defeat Troy

Appalachian State Football is a great sport.There are some amazing headlines for each week of college football season.

They were able to score a score of 1 in Week 1. Forty-eight points in the fourth quarterHowever, it was not enough to overcome their 63-61 defeat to the UNC Tarheels.

Last week, they traveled to Texas A&M, who were ranked No. They defeated 6 other teams in the country and gave Michigan fans terrible flashbacks to 2007.

Naturally, they had no choice but to take on the challenge of last week’s win.

UNRANKED APPALACHIAN SHOCKS No. 6 TEXAS A&M WITH UPSET WIN ON ROAD

Appalachian State was down 28-26 with just two seconds remaining. All they had to do was make a Hail Mary from their 47-yard line.

Chase Brice sent a shot downfield that was deflected but ended up in the hands Christian Horn. Horn ran to the right pole, avoiding a pile, and crossed the goal line giving the Mountaineers a 32-28 win.

Troy led the game by four points, with 25 seconds remaining. However, on fourth and one from their own 11, Troy decided to stop the clock and take a safety.

Troy’s free kick came from their 20. The Mountaineers returned the ball to their 47.

ESPN’s College GameDay was the first to travel to Boone, N.C. on Saturday. It marked an historic day for Appalachian State. The game’s conclusion lived up to its pregame hype.

The Mountaineers are getting more adventurous every day.
