Andrea Agnelli backs Massimiliano Allgri and promises that he will remain Juventus manager

Andrea Agnelli, President of Juventus, said he would not sack Massimiliano allegri despite the humiliating 2-0 loss to Maccabi Haifa at the UEFA Champions League.

After joining Juventus in July 2021 as a manager, Allegri now faces more pressure following the loss in Israel.

Juventus could be expelled from the Champions League if they are not in Group H, where the Italians are third.

They will be facing tough challenges in their two remaining group games at Benfica, and at home to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Turin side is currently eighth in Serie A and Juventus are also having trouble domestically.

Despite their struggles, Agnelli said to Sky Sports Italia: “This is a difficult night in a difficult period. It is one of most difficult periods. This is the time to accept responsibility.

“I feel ashamed for what is happening, I am angry, but I also know that football is played with 11 men, you lose and win with 11.

“In a situation like this, it’s not about one person. It’s a matter to be dealt with by a whole group.
