‘Andor’ ep. 11: From Partisans to Luthen’s weapons: here’s every ‘Star Wars’ Easter egg you’ve missed

Andor has unsurprisingly changed the course and direction of the Star Wars series. Andor invited the public to witness the rebel alliance’s nascency stage. This was a huge departure from other fan-servicing stories featuring a lot of boring characters. With 11 episodes, the series has provided a wealth of character analysis and insight into how an average man becomes a rebel hero.

Andor sets the scene for the finale in the 11th episode. Maarva, Cassian Andor’s mother, dies while he is in prison. It means that Cassian Andor will soon be seen by those who wish to visit Ferrix. Luthen also knows that the Empire is tightening around him when it intercepts him leaving a meeting with Saw Gerrera’s Partisans. Andor leaves the audience in awe with just a few Easter eggs.

Other Partisans

Saw Gerrera’s Partisans has more important players, and Andor introduces one. Cassian is captured and captured by the Keredians. They dislike the Empire and prefer to fight the rebels. Cycyed Ock is the most well-known of them both, and is known for his cyberoptic systems that attach to his brain, which give him sharper vision. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Cycyed Ock is one of the few Partisans who survived the destruction of Jedha. Star Wars: The Smugglers’ Guide suggests that he was soon in prison.

Cantwell-class Arrestor Cruiser

Luthen is nearly caught by the Cantwell class Arrestor cruiser. This ship was first designed by Colin Cantwell to be used in the original Star Wars movie. Some of its’ design parts were included in the Death Star, especially the tractor beam. The production crew discovered the design during Solo: A Star Wars Story and used it in their film. They also named it after Cantwell in his honor.

Kuat Drive Yards designed the ship for the Empire police, who use it to smuggle people across the galaxy. They are deadly to ships, but Luthen has a surprise up his sleeves to free him.

Luthen’s transponder ID

Luthen understands the tricks of the game. Fondor, his ship has fake IDs. These could have been purchased from the black market. This is his last four digits, 2505, which corresponds to the May 25th release date for the Star Wars films. Alderaan, the planet that met its eventual doom, has also been referenced because this help to check the ship’s registration with the Alderaan Trade Alliance.

Luthen’s countermeasures

Luthen’s planning to run away from Empire has been witnessed previously in the Star Wars Expanded Universe, but it rarely worked. Luthen releases shrapnel toward the tractor beam. The tractor beam pulls them faster until they become deadly. Preparing for the attack takes some time as the shrapnel must be precisely timed to neutralize tractor beam.

While most smugglers cannot afford such expensive weapons, Luthen’s wealth has helped him in his survival. The attack was overshadowed by plasma waves that he displayed on the ships sides. These plasma waves are similar to lightsaber blades, and must be powered by kyber stones. Luthen is a historian geek and must have learned about these long-forgotten methods.

Star Wars Story: Predictions of Rogue One

Cassian gazes out at Scarif’s beach. This is in a way that foreshadows his final days on Scarif. He is contemplating death. His mother’s passing and how proud she would be of his accomplishments. He might have thought about Maarva on Scarif and drawn a parallel between his efforts to help her cause.
