An abandoned dog who had given up all hope has the sweetest reaction when she is finally saved

Some of Suzette Hall’s rescue missions are easier than she expected when a stray dog follows her to her car. Some rescue missions are more difficult than others and require many attempts and more nights of sleepless nights. Worth, a small white dog that was only five weeks old, is one of those stories.

Logan’s Legacy Rescue founder, Hall said, “I was there day and night for so many days in a row.”

Worth was living on her own for three weeks before Hall arrived. A concerned citizen saw the dog wandering around a Los Angeles industrial area and called a veteran rescuer.

Hall was there quickly and began using the standard rescue techniques.

“I tried traps, I tried the food, I tried everything,” said Hall. “But nothing would work because the people working there would chase her away.”

Hall lured the puppy into his truck yard. The gate was opened by Hall and the dog ran.

Hall was last to meet Worth at this location in 1996.

Hall stated, “I kept going back every day hoping that she would come back, but she never did. I thought for sure she was gone.”

Two weeks passed without any trace of the wary puppy. Hall received a note from a friend about a tiny dog one evening. Hall was shocked when she saw the little dog that she was searching for.

Hall drove to the field as soon as she saw the dog. After much searching, Hall finally found something in the distance.

“I looked, and it was her,” Hall said. “I couldn’t believe it was her. It was unreal.”

The dog’s hair was mat-covered and longer than Hall had recalled.

Hall managed to maneuver the dog to her car with the help of a nearby guard. Worth smiled happily as she sat in the front seat, and Worth rolled over to the side.

Hall says, “I called her Worth because that’s the name of the street she was on. And because she was worth all the trouble.”

Worth is currently in foster care. Hall has an amazing adoptive family. After five weeks, Worth will be placed in a loving permanent family.

“She was probably the hardest rescue I’ve ever done. But she was so worth every minute of it.”
