The “American Strays Project” is a dedicated program launched by “The World Animal Awareness Society (WA2S)” that focuses on raising awareness for homeless pets. While searching for the perfect program, volunteers came across a truly heartbreaking sight in a Detroit suburb.
The volunteers follow a homeless dog, who moves from home to home carrying an empty bowl. In his search for food, the dog traverses the overgrowth to find someone to feed him. However, there’s no hope for him as the area is just a massive patch of wasteland abandoned by humans.
The volunteers were deeply disturbed to see the poor dog desperately scrambling about with the saddest expression. The volunteers followed the dog for about five houses before filling his bowl with food, and then giving him water. Later, volunteers took care of the homeless animals living in the abandoned neighborhood.
Many people assume that homeless pets can forage for food, or that they are fed constantly. The truth is they are constantly in distress from uncertainty about their next meal.
