After a deal with Rotherham, Derby County appointed League One promotion specialist Paul Warne to the role of new manager. He relieved Liam Rosenior from duties.

TalkSPORT understands that Rotherham manager Paul Warne will be appointed by Derby County.

The Rams have told Liam Rosenior that he is no longer interim manager as the club prepare to confirm Warne as Wayne Rooney’s permanent successor.

Warne has overseen six successful years at Rotherham – who currently sit eighth in the ChampionshipAfter a positive start to the campaign.

As they try to fight for their place in the second tier, Derby are currently seventh in League One.

Warne has a lot of experience in winning promotion from League One. He has coached the Millers to the Championship three times in six seasons, with a 100% success rate.

The Rams are believed to have been watching the 49-year old Englishman since July.

Derby and Rotherham have reached a settlement. Rosenior will remain at Pride Park as part the coaching staff.

After a combined 21 point deduction, the Rams were placed into administration and were subsequently removed from the Championship.

Derby then saw manager Rooney DC United is the new club.

The Rams now seek stability, after being worried about their future. Clowes Developments Ltd, a Derbyshire-based property group, bought it – a company owned by owned by lifelong Derby fan David Clowes.
