Afghan Taliban Dog Discovers New Life in England

Many dog owners are considering adopting dogs abroad. A Golden Retriever rescued from Afghanistan by charity after the Taliban took power can now be adopted by someone.

Ade Parsley from Stamford in England will adopt Golden Retriever Soldier. Including funds from GoFundMe, he raised almost £8,000 to bring his new furry friend to the nation.

With the animals, we leave Afghanistan

After the unrest in Afghanistan, attempts were made to evacuate animals from Afghanistan. However, after evacuation aircraft stopped transporting animals, rescue workers were directed to release 130 dogs at Kabul Airport. Soldier was also released.

In order to express how much Soldier’s story had affected him, Parsley said, “I just fell so completely in love with him.”

“I felt so bad for him,” he added, “and I knew that I truly wanted to give him a loving home. He has seen a lot.

When a Russian journalist saw Soldier at the airport, she got in touch with the Charlotte Maxwell-Jones-founded Kabul Small Animal Rescue Centre, which was able to save Soldier. Soldier is currently in Vancouver and is preparing to cross the Atlantic and get to the UK.

The Golden Retriever caught Parsley’s attention on social media first. Parsley believes Soldier is one of the lucky ones. Only 50 out of 130 dogs have survived all he has seen and experienced.

Dog ownership was outlawed in Afghanistan during the Taliban’s prior rule there. Dog owners throughout the nation have felt anxiety.

Adopting a Dog

Whether you’re adopting a dog from across the country or the city, there are several things to consider. Adopting a dog is expensive, whether you’re looking to adopt a puppy and an adult. Additionally, you’ll need to confirm that everyone in the family is on the same page.

Parsley said on his GoFundMe page that “shipping an animal to the UK can be pricey.” The “cost of a ticket, blood tests, vaccines, customs fees, customs agents to support in the UK, and relocation expenses” would be covered by his financial needs.
