Adobe Acquires Figma, Born Under Peter Thiel’s Fellowship Program

  • Peter Thiel’s fellowship program has been giving out $100,000 checks to young entrepreneurs since 2001.
  • The only problem? There is only one catch. You can find it hereTo pursue your dream idea, you can drop out of college
  • This program has helped to drive big names to success like Vitalik Buterin from Ethereum.

Adobe intends to buy Figma, a design software company, in a deal valued at around $20 billion. Announcement Thursday.

Dylan Field founded Figma in 2012 with Peter Theil’s fellowship program.

Thiel has been helping young adults to launch their own businesses for over 11 years by paying $100,000.

Famed Silicon Valley investor and ex-Trump adviser, Thiel founded the Thiel Fellowship program through his foundation to support students 22 years old or younger.

The goal was to provide coaching and mentoring from prominent CEOs and entrepreneurs to young people to see their ideas become a reality. Although the program encourages fellows to return for further education, not all do.

Thiel was open about his belief that higher education is overrated, and Vitalkin Buterin, an Ethereum champion, saw it through.

Thiel said that it was still worth it for some people. NewsweekIn early 2017, this was referring to earning college degrees. “But many graduates can’t find good jobs; they’re saddled by debt and have to return home with their families. It is becoming clear that something is wrong.”

Here are some examples of projects that were born out of Thiel’s fellowship.
