A few of Taylor Swift’s biggest controversies: From the Ticketmaster debacle to her private jet’s emissions

Taylor Swift is a superstar with a loyal following.

She is a 32-year-old star who has amassed many accolades throughout her career, including 11 Grammy Awards.

Despite her immense success, the “BlankSpace” singer has also been the subject of numerous headline-making controversies over the years, from the Ticketmaster scandal to her private plane’s CO2 emissions. 

Here are a few instances when Swift was subject to backlash from her fans:

Concert ticket fiasco

The singer was embroiled in a scandalous incident this week that happened when she purchased tickets for herself Taylor Swift’s Eras tourTicketmaster made it possible to purchase presales tickets.

Many fans remained in the Ticketmaster queueDuring the Tuesday East Coast presale, Swift tickets were available for purchase only after hours of waiting. To meet the demand, the ticket-selling website paused Central Standard Time queues and delayed West Coast times.

Ticketmaster cancelled Friday’s public on-sale after selling 2,000,000 tickets. This was due to “high demand” as well as “insufficient remaining tickets inventory”.

Tickets prices rose on resale sites after the cancellation. As of Friday, nosebleed tickets at many venues had risen to over $1,000. Tickets at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City (Missouri) reached more than $2,000.

Many fans were left angry by the move. Swift was also criticised for her slow response.

The pop star broke her silence Friday with an Instagram Story message. “It is obvious that I am very protective of my fans,” she said. Song by “I Knew You Were Trouble”. wrote.

She said, “We have been doing this for decades and over the years, we’ve brought so much of my career to house. This was done SPECIFICALLY to enhance the fan experience. I did it with my team, who are as passionate about my fans as me. This is a difficult task for me. It’s also hard for me not to trust outside entities with such loyalties and relationships.

There are many reasons people have difficulty getting tickets. I am trying to find ways to improve this situation. We asked multiple times to see if they were able to handle such a high demand. They assured us that they could. It is amazing that tickets were sold to 2.4 million people. However, it really upsets me that many of them felt like they had been subjected to bear attacks in order to obtain them.

“And to those of you who didn’t have tickets, I can only tell you that my hope is for more opportunities to get together and sing these music. I am grateful that you wanted to be there. It is hard to believe how important that means.

Private jet backlash

The criticisms she received about her private plane’s carbon footprint in July led to backlash for the Pennsylvanian.

She was charged with polluting the Earth. Flying in her private planeYard, a sustainability marketing company that prides itself in “cutting-edge data analysis”, reported that 170 times were recorded between January 1 and July 29.

Yard has compiled data on “which celebrities are worst private jet CO2 emitters.” Swift was the most prolific, clocking more than 22,000 minutes or 16 days. Yard’s research shows that Swift is the most prolific. 

However, a representative for Swift said, “Taylor’s jet is loaned out regularly to other individuals. According to TMZ, it is blatantly wrong to attribute all or most of these trips to Swift. 

Swift faced both praise and backlash in 2018 after she broke her long silence on politics and endorsed Tennessee Democrats.

Political weighting

The 2018 midterm elections were one of Swift’s most controversial controversies. After many years of remaining mostly silent, Swift finally spoke out during the 2018 midterm elections. PoliticsThe singer, who declared her support of the Tennessee Democrats via an Instagram post while criticizing Marsha Blackburn, Republican Senate candidate, posted the following:

Swift shared the following statement to millions of Instagram users: “As much I have in my past and would love to continue voting for women, I cannot support MarshaBlackburn.” “Her voting record at Congress alarms and terrorizes me.”

Swift claimed Swift “voted against equal compensation for women.” Swift voted against Reauthorization of Violence Against Women Act. It aims to protect women against domestic violence, stalking and date rape. She believes that gay couples have the right not to be served by businesses. She does not believe they have the right to wed.”

She wrote that “these are not MY Tennessee value”

Swift concluded she would be voting for Democrat Phil Bredesen for the Senate, and also for Rep. Jim Cooper, a Democrat who was running for re-election.

Her endorsements generated a tremendous response and drew both praise from the media and fierce backlash by fans.

The time was also when U.S. President Donald Trump was In the controversyAccording to White House reporters Blackburn was “incredible women.”  

Trump stated, “I’m pretty sure Taylor Swift doesn’t know or has any idea about anything.” “Let us say I like Taylor’s songs about 25% less now, OK?”

Blackburn was elected to the Senate and became Tennessee’s first female senator.
