The 2022 American Music Awards were a star-stunned bash that honored fan-favorite albums or artists.

BTS, a South Korean boy group, made its American primetime television debut in America five years ago. They performed their hit songs on the American Music Awards stage in 2017. DNALive on stage
The global phenomenon was nominated this year for a new category: Favorite Kpop ArtistTXT TWICE, BLACKPINK and SEVENTEEN were the other competitors. The band was also nominated for Favorite Pop Group or DuoThis is the fourth consecutive time.
On November 20, 2022 the American Music Awards announced that BTS was the winner. Favorite Pop Group or DuoBefore the official awards show started. This win saw the septet break records as they became the first artist to win the title for the fourth time in AMA’s 50 year history.

The group was against Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Måneskin, and One Republic this year for the Favorite Pop Group or Duo category. The group previously tied with Daryl Hall & John Oates, Black Eyed Peas, Aerosmith, and One Direction with three wins each.
The brand-new award was also won by K-Pop’s band Favorite Kpop ArtistAward and also the Fan FavoriteThey did not support One Direction in any category.
