The OnePlus 10T’s Snapdragon 8+ Generation 1 is the reason it has one of today’s best price-to quality ratios. Although it doesn’t boast game-changing cameras the display is stunning and its charging speed is amazing.

After years of disappointing midrange Moto phones, Motorola Edge (2022), a solid mid-range phone, has two main features: the 144Hz display with a smooth response that lives up to its hype and the 2-day battery. This phone is perfect for those who want minimal software and reliable, if not exciting, performance.

Both the OnePlus 10T and Motorola Edge (2022) are mid-range phones that make slight concessions compared to their immediate upgrades — the OnePlus 10 Pro and Edge+ — but are otherwise dependable smartphones that don’t feel like a compromise to use. The Edge (2022), is better than its predecessors in many ways, while the 10T brought back OnePlus’ traditional late-year refresh.
Every phone offers different perks at a comparable price. We are comparing the Motorola Edge (2022) and the OnePlus10T (10T) to find the best option.
Motorola Edge (2022), vs. OnePlus10T – Design and Displays
Because OnePlus 10TIt is a downgraded version of the OnePlus 10 ProIt is very similar to the flagship’s look in many ways. It features a thick, heavy and thick textured glass back. The phone measures 6.7 inches. It isn’t something that most people will use alone. But, its bulk comes with an extremely powerful processor.
With its two appealing color options, the OnePlus 10T is more fashionable than it is functionally. It does not have the 10 Pro’s notification slider. However, OnePlus informed us that the absence of this slider made room for a new 360 degree antenna for better connectivity. We appreciated this.
The Motorola Edge (2022).There are no two ways about it. Although the display is only 0.01 inches smaller, it weighs 33.5g less and is 0.55mm slimmer due to its cheap plastic construction. Our reviewer said it literally: “This phone is cheaply built.” This includes the “atrocious haptic drivers” that can’t keep pace with your taps. The OnePlus 10T is able to do this without any problems.
OnePlus is the clear winner in this category. IP rating(IP54 vs.IP52), which means that it can handle splashes or sprays, while Edge (2022) can only take dripping. Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the 10T is superior to the Edge’s Gorilla Glass 3.
Both phones are distinguished by their display. The OnePlus 10T does not have an LTPO display, but it still hits 120Hz and can dip to 90Hz or 60Hz as needed. The Motorola Edge (2022), on the other hand, jumps to a record-breaking 144Hz and can drop as low as 48Hz.
Our reviewer called Edge display “gorgeous” as well as “a feast for eyes”, while the OnePlus 10T screen is so close to the OnePlus 10 Pro, you won’t be able to notice any difference in “real world usage.” There is no big gap between them, unlike the Motorola Edge and Pixel 6aThe phones are similar enough that the 10T isn’t as drastic a choice.
The OnePlus 10T’s maximum brightness is 950 nits, but it was closer to 750 nits during Future Labs tests. This is a solid, but not groundbreaking, price range. However, the Motorola Edge (2022), which achieved 995 Nits with adaptive brightness, was very impressive.
And we loved both in-display fingerprint sensors in our tests: The OnePlus 10T sensor “continues to be simply excellent,” while the Edge (2022) sensor has an awesome software feature that lets you drag a notification icon into the fingerprint sensor to open that app from the launch screen, which we found “incredibly intuitive.”
Motorola Edge (2022) vs. OnePlus10T – Hardware, performance, battery life
The OnePlus 10T offers a significant performance boost for $50 less than the Edge 2022. Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 — the best non-Apple chip available today. It’s just as fast as the non Plus chip, but has much higher energy efficiency. This helps eliminate throttling or overheating. Galaxy S22 series.
We tested the 16GB model and it scored 1025/3476 (via Future Labs) in Geekbench 5. This beats the 751/2193 results with the Edge. The same applies to 3DMark graphics results, as the OnePlus 10T was able to max out, while the Edge (2022), struggled to perform. You can play popular Android games such as Fortnite and Call of Duty Mobile with no stuttering.
It isn’t fair because most people will choose the 10T model that has half the RAM. However, even with the 8GB model you will still see similar results. Motorola’s MediaTek Ditensity 1050 chip simply can’t keep up to the 8+ Gen 1. It’s a midrange chip, not a flagship. The Edge uses the full potential of the 144Hz display to create simple social media apps but struggled with fast refresh rates for popular gaming apps.

The Motorola Edge’s battery life is good for light use, but not for those who scroll at 120Hz or 144Hz. The OnePlus 10T, however, is very efficient. Our reviewer even said that it kept his hands clean. [him]You don’t need to worry about battery power.
Future’s battery stress testing revealed that both phones performed very similarly at 60Hz and lasted just under 11 hours. The OnePlus 10T lasted almost as long at 120Hz while the Edge (2022), only lasted 9 hours at 144Hz. It’s a reasonable result but it’s a reminder of the fact that the Dimensity chip doesn’t always last forever even when fully clocked.
If your phone battery is low, however the OnePlus 10T will be the best option. The charger is included in the box so you can get 100% power. 20 minutesBecause it supports 125W charging. OnePlus excels in fast-charging phones. It’s a great perk if your phone is dead and you need to charge it quickly.
Motorola Edge (2022) charger isn’t BadYou will need your own charger with 30W capacity, as it does not come in the box. It will take you closer to 90 minutes for it to fully charge. However, it has wireless charging capabilities which the OnePlus 10T does not have.
Both phones came preloaded with Android 12, and both will eventually receive Android 15. Motorola always has some neat software tricks that we like, and we appreciate that the Edge will finally get more than two OS updates — a consistent problem with past Moto phones.
We are concerned about OxygenOS’ future due to its unclear relationship with ColorOS. Motorola, on the other hand, offers more stock but is less reliable for quick updates. It is difficult to decide which one is safer.
Motorola Edge (2022) vs. OnePlus 10T: Cameras
Although the OnePlus 10T may not be the best camera phone, it isn’t bad either. It also lacks the Hasselblad branding that was used on past OnePlus phones. This brand has been synonymous with quality and trust among many users. We also found the ultra-wide and macro cameras to be underwhelming. But simply for the 50MP primary camera, we generally enjoyed taking photos with the OnePlus 10T, which captures plenty of fine details in low-light scenarios — even if it falls short of the Pixel 6a in camera quality.
Below are some photos of the OnePlus 10T.
The cameras of the Motorola Edge (2022), we found to be average in our tests. The ultrawide camera is also disappointing, but we like the macro camera for close-ups. However, the primary sensor is not ideal for capturing stunning memories due to its “extremely muted, unrealistic” colors and poor HDR photo details. Shutter lag can also be a problem. Below are some examples.
Motorola Edge (2022) vs. OnePlus10T: Which one should you choose?
The Motorola Edge (2022), a smartphone that was less expensive than the OnePlus 10T, was more attractive during its first month. It had a promotional price of $499. The price is now $50 more than the OnePlus 10T. The battery life of two days and the 144Hz display are the main selling points, but the camera and mid-range performance are not.
The OnePlus 10T is a close-flagship phone that has a better camera quality, a slightly less impressive display and superior performance. We recommend the OnePlus 10T to Edge users who are power users. Additionally, the fast charging speeds more than make up for the slightly shorter battery time.
We enjoyed using both phones. The OnePlus 10T is our favorite phone. best Android phones.
The OnePlus 10T is a solid choice. This is due to its fast Snapdragon chip and upgraded cooling. It runs most games at 120Hz without any overheating. The battery can be fully charged in just half an hour.
The Motorola Edge (2022) is the only flagship smartphone that can reach 144Hz, even the 2022 flagships. The Motorola Edge (2022) has mid-range performance but can be charged for many days.
