In the beating death and arrest of a 13-year old boy, Los AngelesThree other suspects are being sought by authorities and a liquor store clerk
Steven Reyes, 68, was killed on Oct. 6 following a robbery outside Tony’s Market in the Highland Park neighborhood. Los Angeles police officers responded to the call and discovered that four minors had attempted to steal various items, including a case beer.
Police said that they got into a fight with a clerk at the store who tried to stop them. Reyes, a coworker at the store, tried to help his fellow worker when he was in trouble. Hit in the headAccording to the LAPD, it was a scooter.
He was taken into a hospital and died there.
“To lose your life over a case of beer…it’s like, try to wrap your head around that,” Kaycie Reyes told FOX Los AngelesShe was the daughter of her father. “He was just trying the right thing and he was at an incontinence time and wrong place.”
According to family members, Reyes was an immigrant from Philippines who worked in the store for a few nights per week to support his mother.

The LAPD asks for the public’s help in identifying the additional suspects – a male and two females.
