After the The Spartans were defeated by the Wolverines 29-7 at the Big House, some Spartans appeared to rough up Wolverines defensive back Ja’Den McBurrows in the tunnel. On social media, videos showed at least three Michigan State students pushing, punching and kick McBurrows near a hallway which does not lead to either the locker room or the corridor. Another Michigan player was also attacked.

MICHIGAN STATE PLAYERS SEEN ROUGHING UP MICHIGAN’S JA’DEN MCBURROWS; JIM HARBAUGH CALLS IT ASSAULT

The incident resulted in the suspension of all seven Spartans who are currently facing charges. Jim Harbaugh is the Michigan head coach demanded “serious consequences” — the team also suspended Malcolm Jones.

Harbaugh said, “What happened inside the tunnel was egregious.” Originally said in the moment. It’s quite sickening to see the videos on social media. The ABC tunnel cam is also a higher elevation and shows more of what happened. Accountability is essential. It is essential that there be an extensive, thorough and timely investigation. This should result in criminal charges, which I cannot imagine. These videos are horrible. It is clear what actually happened. It all seems very transparent and open.”

He added, “There should have been serious consequences for all those who are culpable.”

Mel Tucker, Michigan State’s head coach, made his weekly radio broadcast a few days following the brawl. He was subject to extra security because of “excessive backlash” and death threats. A report says
