Steve Rogers’ closest friend is James Buchanan ‘Bucky’ Barnes. They served together in World War II with the Howling Commandos. Although Bucky died during the war, the two would reunite decades later on opposing teams for a new fight. Bucky stood up for Steve even when he couldn’t defend himself. After he was revealed as the Winter Soldier, Steve followed Bucky’s lead and did the exact same for his friend. Steve was willing to risk everything for Bucky and would not give up on him when it came down to Bucky. Steve would eventually witness his friend, despite every odds, regain his former self.
