49ers TE George Kittle (groin), inactive vs. Seahawks

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle is inactive for the team’s matchup at home against the Seattle SeahawksAt 4:05 p.m. ET.

Kyle Shanahan, the head coach, stated Friday that Kittle, who has a groin problem, would be playing in game time.

Kittle was officially listed as questionable this week after being held out of San Francisco’s season-opener against the Chicago Bears. For the second straight game, the 49ers will not have their best blocking or receiving tight end. George Kittle (groin) practiced on Friday, but he looked tentative on his pass routes and it will be at least one more week until he’s on the field.

The 49ers hope to have Kittle back for the team’s Week 3 game against Denver. However, it was not enough to allow the 49ers comfort in playing him in the rain Sunday.

San Francisco will go with the same trio — Tyler Kroft, Charlie Woerner Ross Dwelley — for the second straight week. Trey LanceKroft was targeted twice by the Bears. One time, he was connected on a nine yard pass before the half. Lance’s first-quarter overthrow likely cost the 49ers a touchdown. Kroft is a strong blocker but doesn’t come close to duplicating Kittle’s speed.
