Bliss went through many things in his two years of existence.
The dog had a rare skull tumor. Due to this, her previous owners abandoned her at a very hazardous animal shelter near their Texas home. Bliss was scared and confused, and was shaking in the kennel.

Fortunately, Friends of Emma, a rescue organization that takes in sick dogs, heard about Bliss’ story. They described Bliss’ rescue on their Facebook page:
“This terrified little girl came to us from our local shelter when she had an obvious and extreme cranial bone mass. Bliss, about 2 years old, is microchipped and had been waiting for an owner at the shelter for several days – but unfortunately, no one came to pick her up – so we stepped in to provide the critical care and treatment she needs.”
Emma’s friends brought Bliss to their rescue center in Fort Worth. Bliss was thrilled to be outside the shelter!
Emma’s friends thought Bliss’ tumor was fatal and they intended to give her a good home for the last days of her life. They ran diagnostic tests, and discovered that Bliss had not been neurologically affected by her tumor.
Bliss was happy and healthy, and could live many more years if her cancer was removed.

Upon learning this, Elizabeth Hart, the founder of Friends of Emma, immediately began researching how to treat Bliss’ tumor. She reached out to numerous North American veterinarians before finally finding the right person to help Bliss. This was an Ontario cancer vet.
The surgeon told Hart that he would remove Bliss’ tumor and part of her skull. Then they’ll replace that piece of his skull with a 3D-printed porous polyethylene implant from Australia. Bliss will then begin chemotherapy and radiation to stop the growth of new tumors.

Now, the Canadian surgeon and the Australian 3D printing firm are working together to create Bliss’ perfect implant.
After everything is in order, Hart will embark on the 3,300-mile journey from Texas and Ontario for Bliss. Bliss is likely to be cancer-free by the end this journey.
Hart set up the YouCaring page and GoFundMe page to help with travel and medical expenses. Everyone was amazed by Bliss’ touching story, and the campaign quickly reached its goal.
